Bernal E. Smith, II is the Owner/Publisher of the New Tri-State Defender, one of the country’s leading African-American newspapers and ethnic multi-media outlets. A Memphis native, Smith holds a BA in business administration as well as an MBA. He and his wife Towanda have three children Brianna, Bryndon and Braylon. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and widely recognized for his outstanding civic and business contributions.
