The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) is the state’s designated federal guaranty agency and is responsible for the administration of post secondary educational loan programs. TSAC also oversees other state and federal student assistance programs, including money from the Tennessee Lottery’s Hope Scholarship.

“I have long been an advocate for students in need of scholarships to be able to continue their education,” said Dr. Gray.

His appointment to the 17-member board of directors is an opportunity to help students who are struggling to finish their college careers,” said Gray.

“Had it not been for the government’s federal assistance when I was in college 41 years ago, I would have had to leave school,” he said.

David Smith, press secretary for Haslam, said the governor’s administration is always looking for dedicated and qualified citizens.

“Gov. Haslam appreciates Dr. Gray’s willingness to serve and looks forward to his contribution to the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation.”
