Dear MH: I used to do Health Evangelism across the country. The title of the seminar is “Dare to be Healed.” Sometimes it takes just the attitude you have expressed to finally get your healing!
I love that expression, “sick and tired of being sick and tired.” What you are saying is that you are ready to dare to be healed. The word “heal” comes from the word “whole.” So, you are ready to be whole. To be sick and tired is to be fragmented. I bet that there are parts of you that are not sick and tired! So, a good place to start is with a new word…“I am ready to be whole.” You deserve to have every part of your life serve as a testimony to Grace. That’s the first step.
I have this brochure that I used to hand out with “9 Steps to Healing.” The first step is “I surrender to BE, to Do and to Have; I will be all that I am created to be in mind, body and spirit.” One of the first steps to wholeness is a readiness to dare. Remember as a child when someone dared you to step over the line? Well, we have to decide that we are willing to step over the line and have the courage to expect, dream, ask and receive our heart’s desire. Renew your spirit of expecting, dreaming, asking and receiving wholeness.
Changing our minds is the first step in miracle making. The word will means to choose. Free will is the most powerful gift we have. You have said plainly that you choose not to be sick and tired. So, instead of this negative pronouncement, can you change it to the new thing that you dare to be? You come up with your own new choice.
Maybe you will say, “I choose to feel happy, to be happy to see happy.”
Or maybe you will say, “I choose to think on all that is good today.”
Or, “I choose to have the energy to…today.”
You know what constitutes a new, daring choice for you. Try a little one and then go on to bigger ones each day. Make a game of it.
Here is a really good one: “I choose to be responsible for me and what I am thinking today.” Don’t even wrestle with those old sick and tired thoughts. When they come, just choose a different one. Try and see what happens!
Being whole with you,
