Between now and Dec. 3, the Memphis region will get to see Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Ledisi and Rahshaan Patterson, Katt Williams, Frankie Beverly and Maze, The Isley Brothers, The BarKays, Anthony Hamilton, Will Downing, Boney James and even J. Anthony Brown and others from the Tom Joyner Morning show.
You’d almost have to have a concert budget set aside to get tickets to everything you’d like to see. Frankly, I’d love to see all of them; however, I don’t think my schedule would permit. There are just not enough hours in the day or days in the week. I wish I could clone myself! (lol)
Original 7ven recap
Last week, I wrote about the group, “The Original 7ven” – you know the group formerly known as “The Time.” I talked about the name change and wondered why they would change their name.
Well, after a little digging around, and a little help from readers like YOU, I was able to find a little info regarding the change. And I was correct, it did have something to do with a guy named Prince.
Apparently, your purple majesty has the rights to the name “The Time” and would not grant the rights for them to record any new material under the name “The Time.” I guess as it stands, they can tour under the name, however, they cannot record under the name.
Prince, what’s up with that?
The group seems to be taking it as a good opportunity, so I won’t fuss about it if the group won’t. So, check out their new song called “#trending.” The new album is in stores now.
