The Jackson Southernaires to headline extravaganza

The Community Friends of ICS will host its 32nd Annual Gospel Extravaganza. Saturday March 12th in West Point, Miss.. The Community Friends of ICS will host its 32nd Annual Gospel Extravaganza. Saturday March 12th in West Point, Miss., at the UFCW Building No. 1991, beginning at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) and Sunday, March 13th at the Rust College Doxey Building at 6 p.m. (doors open at 4 p.m.).

 
 The Jackson Southernaires

The Jackson Southernaires will be the headliners, with a special appearance from Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson on both nights.

Local groups performing opening night in West Point will include, The Doss Family, The Hebrew Boys, the Golden Gates, Gospel Tones, and the Mighty Travelers.  Sunday night groups will include The Mighty Inspirations, Revised, the Christian Crusaders and the Stars of Faith.

The event is a major fund-raiser for Community Friends of ICS. Funding from the event will assist in awarding scholarships to two students in the 13 counties served by ICS in northeast Mississippi. Community Friends of ICS serves the following ICS Head Start counties: Clay, Desoto, Grenada, Lafayette, Lowndes, Marshall, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate and Tunica.

Admission is $12 at the door for adults or children 13 and above; children ages 6-12, $6; and ages 5 and below, $2.
