Peace & Freedom Weekend in the mix

Did you know that this was the 25th Anniversary of the MLK Holiday? Sounds like a great reason to volunteer your time, doesn’t it?

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Peace and Freedom Weekend kicks off this Friday as Arnez J. and Nephew Tommy of “The Steve Harvey Show” make their way down to Sam’s Town Casino in Tunica for what is sure to be a stellar comedy show.

And for all of you blues lovers, Bobby Rush & Sir Charles Jones will make their way to Tunica the very next night.

On Sunday night, you can take the night off to rest up so that you can visit the National Civil Rights Museum on Monday.

The Memphis Urban League Young Professionals will be out volunteering with the National Civil Rights Museum (NCRM) for their King Day event from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will need 20 volunteers to help out at the Macy’s tent.
