The purpose is to promote the creation, expansion and the development of African-American owned businesses.
“This is a resource for anyone who wants to be supportive of our African American community and businesses,” said Melvin Jones, CEO at Black Business Directory. “We are an economic development tool.”
Black Business Directory Unveiling, a ceremony noting the release, is scheduled for Thursday (June 9) at 5 p.m. at City Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The last Black Business Directory was published in 2009.
“The format has changed but the information will remain the same,” said Jones. “We are a profile of successful businesses.”
