Music producer Brandon “Wizz Dumb” Deener is making significant waves in the music industry. He’s known for producing tracks alongside world famous producer Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley, who has been recently named the number one song writer and producer of the last decade.

Memphis singer CJ Tate, who is known for his popular single, “Send Her On To Me,” has a collaboration with Wizz Dumb in his future.

Wizz Dumb has worked in the studio on projects for some of the music industry’s elite artist, including Jamie Foxx, Diddy, Missy Elliot, Lil Wayne, Timbaland and more.

Rewind to the beginning, and Wizz Dumb was calling himself Wisdom. Convinced that it was too serious of a nickname, he changed the spelling to “Wizzdum.” That’s when a friend convinced him to add on a “b” to the end, so he spaced it out, dubbing himself “Wizz Dumb”.

Born and raised in Memphis, Wizz Dumb got his start in music at a young age, playing the drums at church and in his high school band. His love for playing the drums influenced his passion for producing music.

The big break came several years later when his friend, Marcus Jennings, moved to Virginia, which happens to be the home state of Timbaland. Jennings boldly knocked on the door of Timbaland’s production studio, handing Timbaland’s childhood friend, Tim Green, samples of Wizz Dumb’s music. Eventually, the Timbaland team gave him a call back, saying they liked his music and that it had lots of potential.

Still, it was a couple years before Wizz Dumb actually got the chance to work in the studio with Timbaland. He says the wait was worth it because he learned so much from being in the studio with him. Recently, he has been living in Miami working on Timbaland’s next album.

Memphis’ rich music history plays a very important role in the way Wizz Dumb produces his music.

“Memphis musicians, their passion for music, it’s just something about it,” said Wizz Dumb. “When I go on Beale Street and watch the performers, they just pour their heart and soul into their music, and me growing up in Memphis, that passion for music lives in me.”

Wizz Dumb’s not just a producer. He also has a knack for finding talent. He’s currently working with several new artists, including Jimmycodean from Northfolk, Va., and J’Royal Price from Memphis.

And in the very near future Wizz Dumb plans to work with Memphis singer CJ Tate, who is known for his popular single, “Send Her On To Me.” Tate has accumulated a massive Internet fan base and that grabbed Wizz Dumb’s attention. Tate has over 35,000 Twitter followers, which is a lot for an artist who has only been performing for about a year.

“CJ Tate has a hunger for music; he’s very talented and original,” said Wizz Dumb.

Tate, who was also born and raised in Memphis, finds inspiration in Wizz Dumb’s success.

“I look up to Wizz Dumb. He is someone who I can call for to get advice from. He was the person I called on before I had a manager”, said CJ Tate, who we despite having a busy career and traveling between Los, Angeles, Atlanta and Memphis, also manages to maintain his job at the Memphis Airport and attends church every Sunday.

Tate’s local fan base gained momentum from Memphis’ Rising Stars artist showcase in produced by Tyrone Sanders of Tysand Media. The showcase provided a much-appreciated opportunity to perform and practice his craft.

“CJ Tate performs like a seasoned performer,” said Sanders. “His style is unique, very personable, and he knows how to put on a great show. I’m certain with CJ Tate and Wizz Dumb working together only success can come out of that union.”

As he moves forward, Wizz Dumb made it plain that he is determined to keep drawing upon the lessons learned from Timbaland.

“What I love about music is that its art itself, it’s like a painting, it’s a form of expression. I really like when people do music and are original and creative and that’s what I have learn from Timberland,” said Wizz Dumb.

“I go out of my way to make sure I’m different. Timbaland said never let the money be a factor, ever. The money will come, just make sure you do it for the love.”

(Expect to see music produced by Wizz Dumb on Lil Wayne’s next album “Tha Carter IV,” and see more of his music on albums by Missy Elliot, Timbaland and The Game. )
